Great news for all high performance car owners!

ICYMI, couple of recent articles on the auto and energy industry collaborating to introduce much higher octane fuels to the general motoring public. Higher octane gasoline -- up to 100 -- is seen as one of the simplest ways to meet rising federal fuel economy and emissions standards. Bring it on, baby!

I just saw that article as well. The source article says "timeframe TBD / after 2021" but I'll take what I can get. Especially if they are talking for $0.25 more a gallon than "Premium" today.

I paid $8.99 a gallon for 100 octane @ Thunderhill yesterday. I'm all in to buying 100 octane at my local station.

I've been wondering about this for a little while now as I watch the average compression ratio for a lot of recent engine designs go up and up and up. I suppose E85 won't fit the narrative of high MPG that the government is mandating so increased octane could be a solution.
