Hello, I have been struggling on the internet and have given up to ask you for help. So thank you for taking the time!

I have a 2019 mustang gt premium with the stock 19 rim pp1 with magneride. Im getting the GT500 magneride upgrade kit from steeda with the ford performance magneride handling pack and want to know the best offset and tire size for mountain curves and the best for the strip.

I really appreciate any advice I’m just looking for the best handling in both situations. Thank you for taking the time to read and answer my questions!

Most folks here recommend the 11" wide wheel, in either 18" or 19" diameter. Which diameter to choose comes down to tire availability (and sometimes brake package fitment, as shown in the Apex guide) - used race slicks are generally 18" but there are some performance tires that may come in a 305 or 315 in 19 but not 18. Because it makes it easy to rotate tires front to back, most track folks get the 52mm offset for all 4 when going to 11" - but that means running a 25mm spacer in front, extended lug studs, and open lug nuts. For tires, a good starting reference is Grassroots Motorports magazine's tire guide. There's a handy chart near the bottom. The fastest tire is probably the Hoosier A7, but it overheats and gets greasy easily on track (though the quick heating is ideal for autocross, which is what is was designed for), and you don't want to run it on the street. For dual-duty, look at the Endurance 200s. If you're more autocross than track, or don't mind having to run cooldown laps between pushes, check the Super 200s.

No matter what you pick, negative camber is your friend. -2.5 is probably the minimum you want in front, with some folks here enlarging the strut tower hole so they can run up to -4. Vorshlag seems to be the "gold standard" in camber plates for newer-gen Mustangs.

As always, if you're going to be competing, read the rulebook first to understand what is legal and what is not in certain classes, so you don't end up making yourself a massive underdog in your class because of one modification. For example, cutting the strut tower puts you in C Prepared (tube frame cars on slicks) or CAM-C (anything goes as long as you have 200TW tires, meet min. weight, and maybe have a license plate) in SCCA Solo.

Lots of good info from Dave and also check TireRack for their many tire tests. A good source there ( for info and purchase ) is Luke Pavlik , who has been there for over 25 years and is a fellow Autocrosser and Trackrat . He has even run the " One Lap of America, '" so you know he is seriously addicted to assaulting the asphalt, ha. His extension is #4362 and I have known him for 25 years and he is one of my go to sources.
I have been running the Bridgestone RE71RSs and not only are they a solid Autocross tire they work well on a road course -- they are not as temperamental as the Yokohama A052. Another solid choice is the Nankang CR-S V2 ( only get Version 2 ) and they are a bit tough to get but should be in good supply next year. Lastly, the Falken RT660 will have some carcass changes and they are a good dual purpose tire and though the boys at Plant say no compound changes I would not take much stock in that.

Good luck and note you can get long studs and calipers from Capaldi Racing and OPMustang , both site Sponsors. Apex wheels are quite popular because of price but keep in mind the new Flow Formed ones do not have a knurled edge like in the past , so you might want to bite the bullet and get the Forged ones -- still one of the best buys around for a forged wheel .
