Blower Motor Tick?

Just started this a few days ago...when I start the car I get a steady ticking noise from the blower motor, last about 10 sec then stops. Anybody ever had this?

It's probably one of the actuator motors for the A/C dampers, not the blower motor itself. Hard part is finding which one. I think there are three.

The plastic gears on the actuators break. That's what the ticking clicking noise is.

Not sure it will work on a blower motor tick, but have you tried Frontline , it worked great for my Australian Shepard.

If you live in Florida, it will be the now deceased lizard that crawled into the A/C vent and made a few laps in the blower motor..
or it could be one of the actuators as mentioned above

Glad to help. Also try changing where the air discharges. Defrost, dash, floor...the different settings should help pinpoint the problem. The sound might go away for one or more settings. Good luck.

Could be something as small as a pine needle or twig which worked its way into the heater box. Remove, clean replace.

Well being basically shut in these days I pulled the glove box door for room and identified the actuator that's ticking. One of the screws holding it is one of those "1/16th or a turn at a time" with a 8mm open end. Ordered new (Motorcraft actuator P/N is AR3Z19E616-E) Waiting for it to get here.

I found this pic on another site. I Need one of these wrenches (lower right) 8mm Barrel or Drum wrench. Without it there is no way to get one of the screws out
