Actually instead of just going to NJMP to improve your skills as a driver ( as you note in your " Build " ), get into SCCA or NASA first and they will teach you the proper techniques, track etiquette, proper and fast apexes, safety and quality instruction. No offense, but I felt your direction on how to improve your skills was backwards, you want to go to quality Car Organizations first and learn good habits, going there after you run a bunch often means you have to almost start over, getting rid of bad habits and learning the proper lines, braking points, etc. SCCA has " Track Nights " around the Country with some instruction, and NASA has a complete ladder system of Instruction ( HPDEs 1 thru 4 ) that is very complete and includes a logbook to show your improvement and areas to work on.

Make sure you get your HPDE Logbook so you can have your Instructor lists your strengths and areas you want to work on . It is a great way to start as you will dream and rerace the event over and over in your mind and it is so helpful to help digest what you want to work on at the next event you go to.
