First small Dynaflow glasspack as close to the headers as possible. Its a mock-up still, but getting there. I know the welding is not up to the level of some one like @Fabman, but the guys only recently got a mig machine. After the custom xpipe goes a longer Dynaflow glasspack, followed by an H pipe and ending in a dynafow race muffler. Hoping to get under 90db!! better said,, have to get under 90 db.

The combo of a xpipe and Hpipe really worked in getting our sound levels down on the last exhaust... Went from 92 to 88Db!!! ( at 6000rpm, lucky they dont ask to go to redline...)

Yup!! As long as we are not going back words, Thats something positive!! Wondering how long i should run the breaking oil for?? then how long to log the car with Shaun, after that off to the dyno. Counting the hours.

Was the engine dyno’ed after the rebuild?

If not here is a good source of information for new engine break-in. See this link:

IIRC your Ford Motor Company owners manual will have a few comments on engine break-in procedures.

But remember, everyone may have a different procedure from ‘Run it like you stole it’ to baby it for the first 100k, IYKWIM.

As for me? I’d go with the link provided from Livemois Motor Sports.

Good luck,

Good Lord, the Cobra jet manifold is pretty rough... its getting ported as we speak.
1599071847038.png

And some of the joins are really bad..

But it looks like it will be ported by the time the exhaust is ready.

Ok, Ported and polished Cobrajet manifold ready and is getting installed now, really impressive about how crude the constructions is... Could you print one of these with a 3D printer??

Looks like the IM cleaned up nicely.

Forget the 3D printer, I’ll wait to buy one when @Fabman starts making these our of aluminum!

How sweet would that be?

That would be nice!!! I think I saw that AED is working on one as well.

BMR engine mounts lowered the engine enough for the strut tower bar to work as well. Happy.

More permitted porn!

, Funny to watch your car getting built long distance. Normally I would be in the shop a couple of hours a day. Interesting to see what a lower engine does to the handling.

Ha...too much work for not enough money.
For as good as these manifolds are right out of the box they are worth every penny.
Be interesting to see how much porting it helps....do we have any numbers on this?

I had the engine lowered on mine but it put the headers too low so I couldn't get the car as low as I wanted, so I raised the motor back up and just lowered the whole car...

No dyno numbers yet! Just the flow numbers from the ported heads.

Was really suprised at the lack of quality control on the Cobra jet. My guy is also porting a 2018 manifold and that is MUCH better. Makes me think thats why the 2018 manifold gets numbers very close to the cobra jet... Massive gaps and rough edges on the CJ setup.. But it looks much better now and the VMP twin 67mm TB is ported nicely to the manifold. Did have some pretty shocking fit and finish issues between the two...

engine should start up on monday with luck, once we get some hours on it, its off to the dyno.

 With which header was that?? we did redo the whole Kooks header setup with custom collectors and xpipe etc. BUT will be checking if we went too low! Thanks for the tip!

ARH headers. Kooks I think are higher up.

While they won't take the oval twin throttle body, there's always the pricey Edelbrock:

And the more reasonably priced Holley Sniper with 90mm opening:
