Seems like an alternator taking a powder is a pretty common issue with a Boss or Mustang on the track. Had the same thing happen to me in 2021 but was lucky it happened at the track during the very last event ( finished said run ) and we were able to push the beast into my trailer. New one, along with the starter it also fried and we were back in business for the next race. Tough situation for you driving home, but impressed with how close you were to the two GM machines considering their HP compared to yours ---- you are driving really well my friend.

Thanks Bill. having lots of problems with my gear box again. the last rebuild was a "discount job" and am regretting I went that road. Will send the tranny to a better shop after the race on the 7th of August. No reverse and the second to third shift is iffy, with the third to fourth shift ok upto 7000tpm, beyond that its a crap shoot.

Put together a poster for our category this coming Sunday. Hoping it does not rain!!

The middle pic on the right is from google as the car is new to us and I do not have a pic yet. Its going to be tough as the gearbox is is acting up after the last refresh... went with a cheap shop. Not a good idea. 6 GT4's and a GT3 are signed up and ready to go. Found my repaired original Boss alternator, as my new one will not arrive in time. Hope it holds up!! All the BMW are sitting this one out. So its Porsche VS Ford race and we are out numbered.

Getting the car ready for Sunday. Turns out I puked oil on the alternator and now its cleaned and charging ok. Catch can got full, will have to check that thing after each outing.

Another GT4 has joined the fray, so now we have 7 of the little roaches in my category. Am dubious about the transmission (can't say tranny any more). fingers crossed but will try my best to get behind the GT3 car.

Radiator is ducted and am going to check it out in a bit. Made some massive splitter ducts but now just have to get them printed out.

Thanks, GRUNT! is the key....the GT4 is obviously a super machine, but it has no torque. I love telling them that my wife's turbodiesel 4 cylinder jeep has more torque then they do (tell the same thing to the e92 m3 crowd as well). If you have your rear set up right (the cars), and a big wing, you can power out of the curves and leave them 2 or 3 car lengths behind, before they can try to get you in the next curve. On the straights the gen3 engine with its 500rwhp leaves even the new GT4 CS cars behind so its a no contest there. oddly enough, braking is were I end up doing most of the passing. For that, make sure you have big ducts, aggressive pads and big discs! I could not brake with them with the original 14" brembos.

The GT4 is almost the definition of a momentum car. But the Mustang is not, not even a little bit.. Its a heavy, slow in, fast out beast. If you can watch your six and defend your line going into the curve they cant pass you on exit...

All the usual suspension goodies are the ones that TMO has had layed out for quite a while now. The GT4 cars here are all with modified ECU's bigger manifolds and TB's and with all the extra suspension goodies. Most are running Hoosier R7 with some still on Cup2R tires..

Struts and a chariot axle... :hellyeah:Who would have thought!!!

Well. just got a call that the event is canceled due to weather... So we have time to pull the tranny and get it rebuilt before the next race. Too bad.. But it is too cold and wet...

Sorry to hear , and while you are fighting cold and rain, many of us are finding our track day temps in the 95-100+ degrees. Hope you get the transmission redone and sorry to hear you problems continue.

Worst part is that this morning, the sun was out and its a beautiful morning........

Yes I hope the tranny was not damaged by the last shop I went to... They said they "machined" it to improve the shifting..... Came out worse then it went in.

Well tranny is out and already the parts list is growing! Also has a nasty sound as you spin the bearing. 12 days to race day...

This is the first time for me... usually its just a small oil leak, this was a exedy thrust bearing. Are the ford ones are better? Maybe its going to be a regular occurrence now......

And the Tranny is back and repaired!!

Off to the races this weekend. If I could go armed, I would. Supposed to be riots and half of the cars have dropped out already. Its the traditional day for throwing rocks and molotovs and since they got spanked at the polls, we all expect them to do their worst.

At least the three fastest GT4 cars will be going and the supercharged m3 so it should be fun. And I will have all of the gears to play with!!!.

Got a new cel phone holder thats track oriented, as well as a knock off gopro. Hope to get a decent video at last. Can't wait to hit the track!!!!
