That's where my regular Boss 302 dynoed.....407.26 rwhp, 364.59 rwtq.Boomerstoys said:He told me it's currently @ 407 WHP!
It appears that the Boss 302S and 302R have the 302R engine...ArizonaGT said:The engine in the 302R and 302S is the same as what is in the street cars.
There's some confusion on those cams. Like AGT stated whomever named those parts is causing confusion. We were both told by the Ford Racing team that the 302R and 302S engines are pulled from the same parts bin as our cars and are the same engines omitting obvious stuff like emissions and they do have a different tune. It's possible that could have changed but I don't think so.BlackNDecker said:It appears that the Boss 302S and 302R have the 302R engine...ArizonaGT said:The engine in the 302R and 302S is the same as what is in the street cars.

I'm assuming the main difference is in the cams...

The motors are sent to Roush for sealing for Grand-AM GS. Not sure what the scoop is on the cams but unless there was a change all three motors are the same. Ford has stated that many times and are very proud of the fact that the street car uses the race motor.smittytx said:My S has a stock motor with a larger oil pan, the R motor is sealed but I don't know if there are any internal differences. The higher rev limit is apparently due to the Ford Racing harness. ??? Don’t ask me, I’m only repeating what I was told. The tunes are different but can’t be changed.
They use the stock headers and omit the cats. Are you looking to buy a Boss 302S?BlackNDecker said:I would imagine that the race cars use an offroad header/exhaust set up?
AFAIK It's a spec class based on production cars. They also run restrictor plates at many tracks. Remember Grand-AM is owned by NASCAR. BTW Ford Racing is doing the same think with the Focus ST-R for the ST class.BlackNDecker said:Are the Boss race cars required to run OEM headers?
