Jeez, sounds kind of like a 'vette forum. Every time GM makes any change to the car the old guys go ballistic. Many of them think the C8 isn't a Corvette at all. Meanwhile, the reality is that the C8 is way better than the previous cars, especially with respect to ergonomics and comfort.
My main beef with the flat panels is the complexity of them, you can have virtually any layout you want, as long as you persist in trying to find exactly what you want. And that can be daunting for an old, tired brain.
Would I prefer to go back to the old style dash with analog gauges? Damn right I would! But it ain't going to happen so I'm just trying to figure out this new tech and make it work for me.
And trust me when I say this, if I can figure it out then anyone can.
Haha, let’s bust out our New Balance shoes. You said what I was thinking.

So I bought a '25 Maverick Hybrid. My nod to the environment. It's got a flat panel. You think the Mustang dash is bad, well, it's easy compared to the Mav. It's very chatty, tells you all kinds of stuff that you find interesting but possibly is irrelevant to driving. I think over time I'm it's going to be just annoying.

At least the DH doesn't yak at me, much. But I haven't had it to the track yet. It likely will scold me when I hit 140 mph up the back straight at Mosport. Maybe it'll dial 911 on my phone and report me to the cops!!! Oh wait, that's not due for another 5 years or so, depending on how much sway the safety nazis have with new administrations on both sides of the border.

And to top all that off, my wife just got a '25 Escape and it's got one of them too! The good thing is that both of the Escape and the Mav have a very similar dash layout, so switching back and forth between them should be easy.

I don't know why I do these things, I must be a masochist!
