Old thread, I know, but perhaps a valid question. Has anyone considered a scatter shield and dropping in a custom ratio Richmond 6-speed. For about $4K +/-, that would seem to be a pretty solid plan. Will something like that fit and work? I know a lot of the resto muscle cars are going that way and the trans has a pretty decent racing history, from what I have read.
