Brexit or Remain?

Never thought a vote in England would ever affect our markets so profoundly. Markets going crazy in after hours trading. And the vote has been ping-ponging as the counts come in.

Don't be surprised if you wake up tomorrow with a lot more or a lot less in your 401k, etc.

We've been discussing this a LOT where I work. The consensus around my office is that regardless of what happens and in the markets in the few days afterwards a month from now things should be back to normal. The vote won't change the earnings of companies and in the end that's the main driver of stock prices.

For the record I think they should stay but demand concessions from the EU what will make most Brits happy. I felt the same way for the Scotland vote to leave the U.K. almost two years ago. Think of where they'd be now with the price of oil half of what it was when they voted.

Leave won by 52% to 48% with England and Wales voting strongly for Brexit, while London, Scotland and Northern Ireland backed staying in the EU.

My advice: Don't panic. Buy anything in your portfolio that dropped. Maybe even sell/short anything that went up!
