Buy a Raptor or build up an F-150?

Not really an apples to apples comparison, but they do state that. Interesting to see the comparison though, as I have always thought it would be cheaper to build.

Buy a Raptor vs. build an F150 is very similar to buy a Rubicon vs. build a standard Wrangler. A Rubicon seems overpriced until you start pricing out aftermarket lockers, 4:1 transfer cases, electronic swaybar disconnects, Dana 44's, lower differential gears, etc. I know a lot of people who have started with a regular Wrangler and it isn't very long before they wish they could start over with a Rubi. You can certainly build a better Jeep than a stock Rubicon starting with a Wrangler, but you will spend a LOT more money.

In fact, in just about any buy vs. build comparison you come out ahead with the factory package. Boss 302 or GT350 vs GT are perfect examples.
