I know of a 67' on a rotisserie right now waiting for a Boss motor. The suspension had been completely upgraded with coil overs and Wilwood brakes. It should be a screamer.

the cfo would be kinda pissed though. so it probably wise for me to leave her alone
 
I'd do it with a 70, best looking Mustang ever imo though I think it is heavier than the earlier ones. That is my dream track car actually, a 70 with modern motor and suspension and brakes. There is a 68ish one that comes to NASA track days here with 500+ hp big block and built as a full racecar, it is pretty awesome.
 
thats my wifes 66 fastback. 289 c4 car.
im sure she wouldnt mind the speed/acceleration but the fact that i would spend the money is differant.

she did mention it once though. ill see how she likes the idea soon.
