Ok, I was getting the Check System Charging warning last weekend at MPH. The message appears in the message center and the red battery light comes on in the dash. It would come and go and was intermittent. When it was in the shop for the new slave cylinder all systems tested out fine. The alternator was putting out the correct voltage and the belt was in good condition. I was out driving around tonight and it came on every time I got in the car. It wouldn't come on at key on but would come on after a few minutes of driving. I'm getting 14.1 to 14.4 volts from the battery while driving and it doesn't go outside those values so it's obviously charging fine. What the heck could be causing it ???
It's really annoying since it's a red light and even if you clear the message, it just keeps coming back. I'm heading to Road America next Sunday and it's a 9 hour pull so will not be the least bit amused if my alternator craps out and I'm out of commission again. Any ideas out there? I'm planning to run it into the dealer on Monday as soon as the light comes on so they can see it in action this time. It didn't do it while they had it in for the clutch.
