Chin Track Days at COTA (April

I am planning to make the big trek out to COTA from North Carolina. I've driven the other FIA Grade 1 F1 track (Indianapolis), but not in its original F1 configuration. This is pretty exciting! I am really looking forward to getting out there!

Which run group? Their red is easiest as an instructor, but I get run over on my 200tw tires by you Hoosier boys!
hmm...that's a good question. I run red since the car is fast and I'm sometimes proficient at extracting its potential. But A LOT of very fast cars show up to COTA. Red is often half factory race cars.

COTA is a real horsepower track and slicks really make a big difference in the tighter sections of the track (like 4-5 seconds from T1-T8 alone). I might suggest Blue for at least the first day so you're not constantly dealing with your mirrors. Then on day 2, jump up to red if you're feeling good.

Really depends on the weekend conditions, the run group sizes and makeup, and your own familiarity with COTA, though. It can take most of a day to get consistent at COTA on the limit for fairly skilled drivers. I've also seen folks who turns lots of virtual laps be fast on lap 3. ha
