I figured some would be going based on what I saw from last years post. Looking forward to it. Running in intermediate (yellow), maybe I'll run into you guys.

Anyone from around SC area know if Kershaw or the CMP track was flooded from Hurricane Helene? I couldn't find anything or see road closures from that area. I was planning on being at the Biltmore and Asheville area starting Tuesday and from what I'm seeing it's underwater there and parts of I-40 are closed.

I don't think the track sustained any damage. I reached out to friends on the motorsports committee running the event. I'll let you know when I hear back.

I am in Knoxville and from what I am seeing Asheville is going to take some time to recover. I would make different plans for this week. I am not sure how I am going to get there myself. I-40 is heavily damaged along the Tennessee/North Carolina border. The alternate is usually to go up I-81 to Johnson City and then down I-26 through Asheville, but it looks like part of I-26 is missing. Hopefully we get some good news out of North and South Carolina soon.

I just spoke with a friend in Columbia SC, so a little southwest of the track. He has been without power since yesterday morning. He believes most of the damage was west of Columbia and that Camden/Kershaw is okay except for flooding around the lake. The Greenville/Spartanburg area was hit hard and people are driving to the Northwest side of Columbia for fuel and supplies causing long lines and stations running out of fuel. I also spoke with the hotel in Camden just south of the track and they said they were without power for a day or so, but are fully operational at the present. Now I just have to figure out how to get there with all roads between East Tennessee and Western North Carolina closed.
