I'm not so fond of the glossy plastic deck lid and I'm thinking about having this one painted or getting a spare and painting it to match my '70 Boss matte finish look.

How are these attached? I see just two screws on the inside corners of the trunk lid.

Thanks

The matte finish on the '12 Boss trunk lid is just vinyl. It's got a part number and everything or you can just get some from a sign shop. Should be less expensive and less hassle than painting. Just an idea. Good luck!

Are you refering to the lid or the spoiler??

I'm pretty sure he's talking abt the deck lid. I was thinking the same thing. I think it would look way better with matte black. Plus the shiny black shows so every little piece of dirt and finger print.

i assume you are talking about the taillight panel on the 2013

here is a video pf how to do it

http://www.cjponyparts.com/trufiber-taillight-panel-carbon-fiber-without-hole-2010-2013/p/TPM12/

there are some options out there but not sure they will look as good with the tailights

The CJPonyParts video shows clearly how to remove it, and that carbon fiber panel is probably cheaper than an OEM from Ford. My body shop says they have to special order the textured flat black if I want to match the '70 color and finish. I'll check into the vinyl applique but I doubt they have the texture I'm looking for.

Thanks

your welcome

it is cheaper than ford , my cost on a replacement panel was $330 from ford

the rtr panel is cheaper, like $199, if you are going to paint or wrap one
