here is the guidance I got from Sal the owned of zaino in the decals and zaino use

You're going love Zaino especially on all those decals. Zaino Show
Car Polish works great on all vinyl decals. It is non-abrasive, leaves
no white residue or wax buildup and actually makes the decals last
longer. It's UV40 protectant will keep the decals from shrinking, fading
and drying out. Plus it will make the decals look like they have a clear
coat over them. Try it on all the decals you'll love it.

You can use Z-2, Z-5, Z-6 or Z-8

NOTE: For Flat Black or Matte Decals.

Try a test spot on the Flat Black decals and see if you like the look.
It will make the decals have a slight gloss to them.. It boils down to a
matter of personal preference.

Wow!! The black really stands out, going to order some Monday, thanks for the info, have you seen any dodo juice? Zaino web site had a lot of info on there products, thanks for your help, I'll let you know how it works after the install.

For some reason, I read that in Billy Mays' voice

Looks really good, I need to wash mine today after getting it filthy at the track. I bought a sink filter system and some couplers to mount it to the hose, and a 1 micron filter. Hopefully I don't get all the water spots this time.

Great idea! Our water is pretty 'hard' up here, that's a great idea.

Thanks to the OP for recommending Zaino products, now I know what I'll be doing the first day or 2 when I take my Boss home.

Zaino is primarily a polish right? So on my new never waxed car should I wax it first and then Zaino or the other way around? I can't seem to find a straight answer....anyone? :-\

I would imagine if you started from square 1 with Dawn, that might be the way to go. You could always drop an email to the Zaino guys, I just did asking if their products should be cool with the new reflective stripes. I'm betting they will say it will be fine, but if you get a kit and have at it we can sit back and observe your results.

This is the one I used, it is a Culligan I think but I can check. They had it at Ace Hardware. The only issue is that it is threaded for pipe threads, not hose threads, but they had adapters. I also added quick connects, since I don't want to waste the filter life on watering the plants. I never worried about the water before since I like white cars, but the roof, tail and vinyl was scaling. My friend has a similar setup with the 5 micron filters, and says it works well. Ace only had 1 and 20 micron in stock, so I went with the 1. Filters are like $10 for 2, each is rated for 2k gallons. There used to be a Mr Clean version that was direct fit on the hose but is seems to be discontinued.

Sorry for derailing the thread a bit, but I figured where better to put a water softener for car washing ;D

no you dont apply this over wax. you must start with nothing on the car hence washing it with dawn and clay bar. the pc fusion can be used to take out scratches and heavy swirls after you clay. the z-5 will fill swirls the more coats you apply the better the filling. my hood decal was in really bad shape from bad washing skills at the dealer. they are close to gone now. i think another round of layers and they will be gone. just like there site says dont wax your car zaino it lol. I am in the process of doing the wheels. I will put up some pics when I am done. they were really swirled up got two done so far they look great.

sal wasnt kidding when he said it would look like I had clear coat sprayed over the decals. they look so much glossier and blacker now. I have tried to make them better with the steps adams polish suggested and well adams didnt do $hit other than make the water bead on them.

Therefor you probably haven't been able to test with these specific stripes, but I just wanted to put this specific model on your radar. I won't get my Mustang until later this year (Q3 delivery), so hopefully by that time other Boss owners can put your products to the test.

So yay for the prompt reply on Easter Sunday no less! Boo for the canned reply, show me some love! I'm still gonna likely order the full boat kit with bucket (both towels are out of stock, but hey, i got 6 months for them to get back in stock), but honestly, I kind of expected this, no biggie.

I got the wheels done today. did dawn wash, clay bar, z-7 wash, z-pc fusion, z-aio, z-6 wipe down, z-5, z-6 wipe down. took about an hour a wheel. I also got more pics in better lighting took some with the sun still high and at sunset. I tell you she glows, its so glossy looks like I could crawl in the paint. the pics do no justice.
