Does Cold Air Intake affect Factory Warranty?

I am thinking about installing the Airaid Cold Air Intake. Does anyone have any information on how this might affect my factory warranty? If anyone has installed this system, can you tell me how easy it is to put back to stock if needed? Is there any drilling required for installation?

It will go back to what Ford has stated in regards to warranties. Any mods done that are traced back to the mod in question...that will then void the warranty. So if something happens as a direct result of the new CAI on, then your warranty will be voided...which is why I had no problem putting axle backs on my car cause I can't see those having any impact on things.

A CAI without a tune will not cause a warranty denial. If you have an issue swapping back to stock air filter housing is easy. If a tune is installed and there is an engine failure such as #8 meltdown or valve train failure then Ford can see that factory fuel and spark maps have been altered and MAY deny warranty. That being said axle backs and air raid will net about 7 hp to the wheels without a tune.

Airaid claims 19 hp with their cold air intake and no tune. Some of the other manufactures claim 11 hp on a GT Mustang, so 19 seems plausible on a Boss.

That's not peak HP but it does fatten the curve nicely.
