Drive shaft question

Is it normal for the drive shaft to have 1/2" on play (when grabbing the actual drive shaft)? It is a audible clunk at either end of the play, I had the rear bearings done etc about a year ago. It seems to be more then I remember....

Play when you rotate the shaft or when you grab it and push pull it?
Not liking either but different issues.

Only on rotation, fore and aft is fine.

Just on the rear. Its about a 1/4" of play.

1/4" at the yoke does not sound excessive. Has the rear gear been worked on??

Probably just backlash in the rear gears. Have similar play on mine--it's always been there. Hope it's normal

Good to hear! I had the outside bearings changed a year or so ago.
