Driver airbag delete?

I would like to use my stock GT350 steering wheel so I can keep the controls/buttons. I removed the airbag but noticed that the AB cover will not attach to the steering wheel W/O the AB.

Any one successfully delete the AB from a stock steering wheel?

The other option is to use a race steering wheel and detach the control buttons from the stock wheel and remote mount it.

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

You could leave the air bag in place and just disarm it.

Yeah I don’t think you can safely remove the bag and charge from the frame and cover. Just unhook and tape the leads. The two pound weight savings has to come from somewhere else. Gutsy move to gut a R model.

I don’t think a blow airbag will have the same dimensions.
