8) I always think of drag racing, like NASCAR racing, as mostly an American motorsport. Is drag racing very popular in Euroland? What length strip do they use?

in the past years drag racing grow to a very popular motorsport scene in europe. it has teams from every country in europe, but the best teams are from switzerland, germany, england and sweden.

Our Swiss Team was 2009 also in Las Vegas, Houston and Pomona

most classes use the quartermile, only the top fuel use a 1000 feet strip.

Life is short. Live well!
If you ever get a chance to attend an NHRA event when you visit America I definitely recommend it. It will be an experience you will remember. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to stand at the starting line between two top fuel dragsters and then two Funny cars and the shock wave to your body has to be experienced to be believed. ;D

I'll second that, I did the same thing with John Force. Spent the day with his team, got to stand at the start, rode with the team to pick him up at the end of the track to tow back to the pits. Then got to see the team totally tear down that car and rebuild it for the next round. It was amazing to see up close. Even hung out in his trailer. He is quite a character with lots of stories, and a great host. Will never forget that day. Eric Medlin showed us around then. What a class act all around.
