F1 Race At COTA In Jeopardy

This isn't good news. My son and I are planning on going to the race in 2016 so I sure hope it doesn't get cancelled.

I hate to admit that I didn't realize that much of my tax money went there.
I finally got to go this year. We just came for Sunday. I hope the race continues, but I want the event and venue to find a way to carry it's on weight.
I really want to run the track as well. I have been told COTA has the highest rates to track day providers and clubs already.
Maybe some high dollar condos, and a lot more events could help.
With oil low and so many layoffs, subsidies are hard to sell.
I just got my CPO '12 Boss 302 due to cut backs someone else had to endure.
Times are tough in the oil patch, and that ripples thought the state.
I won't be tapping my savings again for fun until, times get better.

I read about the damage but had no idea about the large subsidy. It would be nice to see the race continue but agree it should pay for itself. Similar issue with the old Ontario Motor Speedway with local government being involved in the management. It's now a large shopping mall. :

And more bad news. The race is on the schedule as provisional. This is not good. I was really hoping to go next year and see an American team in the field. Let's hope the organizers can pull this together.
