Looking for a low budget sheet metal break, any suggestions?
Apron or box and pan?

Box and pan, looks like Harbor freight has the best deal since it's not for occasional use.
Which one are you looking at? Most of their stuff is pretty cheesy.
What capacity are you looking for? Width/thickness/material type

Changeup....went from stock, to a shelby grille and finally a Bullitt grille.
I like the stock one myself, but the Shelby and Bullitt allow more airflow.

Opinions?

That might be LS quiet.
It still Howels when you open her up. I'd love for it to pass laguna but I'm skeptical.
Let's see what it sounds like at Sonoma on the 5th. Anybody else going to be there?

Update to exhaust in an effort to pass sound at Laguna Seca.

Its all stainless so I polished up the last elbow then taped it off and gave her a quick coat of BBQ Black.
Just because I have to do something stupid to pass sound doesn't mean I can't do it with a little personal flair, does it?
Wish me luck. :-\

Would it have been better to point the end piece at the ground instead of into the air??

Up is better. If you point them down, the sound can reflect off of the pavement. Pointing them up allows the sound to diffuse.

Stay tuned on that one.
This won't change the actual DB's, but it will re direct the sound away from the meter hopefully getting me by.
This is a common practice although my version may be a little different, lots of people have to do similar things to get past sound at this one track.

These are affectionately knows as "Laguna Pipes". (Laguna Seca)

I can't see any of the pictures since all the hosting sites are block at work...

But, just make sure you have enough space between the bumper and the exhaust. I literally can't count how many cars I've seen melt their bumpers via Laguna pipes.

As long as you don't stuff your exhaust with steel wool and start a fire you're winning in my book... @ArizonaBOSS ;D
