Congrats on the logbook. What's with The Scarlet Letter? Wife getting jealous?
Scarlett letter...great reference.
No, the red "A on the gas cap is mandated so the fire crew is aware that I am running Alcohol (Ethanol).
e85 will be new to SCCA for next year and only allowed in 2 classes.
So far I am the only one using it so we are breaking ground here.

Well I suppose you could start with a TMO sticker and go from there. Do this unit have the wheel boxes. Mine does and I would hate to see a video of all the contortions on my face when I slip out the driver's side window. Yet, it gets easier the more I do it.
Wheel boxes? You mean the inner fenders? yes, and it is a royal pain to squeeze my fat butt out the window. But, I am getting skinnier. So far I've lost 20 pounds.....and counting.

A man has to know his limitations.

I have wheel over ramps built into the trailer. Drivers door opens through the escape door. Ramps allow for some work to be done under the car while it is in the trailer. Tieing down the car is easier also.

How does that song go? “When I wore a younger mans clothees”. Since I don’t, the ramps are great.

Ha, you get to go to drivers school, think you will pass ?:)

A word of warning about scca regionals, they can be full of squirrels. Most of the fast guys run nationals. I'd give them a little extra space on the track.

Unfortunately, the only class I fit into is a regional class.
I'm well versed in driving with squids, though I'm not crazy about it.
Wish me luck. :(

Regarding the passing of drivers school, I suppose that's up to the instructors.
If for some reason I don't qualify for a licence I would expect them to withhold it.
If they do see clear to give me that licence I will do my best to deserve it.

Its just a check in the box thing. I've never seen someone turned away from an scca license, hence my comment about squirrels/squids. A couple semi fast laps with semi decent lines and they'll sign off. Then you can use the rest of the time for a test session. Plus a compliment to the instructor for taking his time to support racing blah blah blah, never hurts.

Actually, I am getting a pass on the school because of my prior experience.
All I have to do is attend a track day and let the instructor follow me around and make sure I'm not dangerous. They will ask others in the group what they thought and I expect I'll get that signature in my book saying I'm okay.

Its not hiding...its right here!
The car lives at my shop and the door is open to the world every day.
More than a few online car guys have shown up here out of the blue wanting to check out the car and shop. If you're ever in the neighborhood feel free to swing by. ;)
