Yeah, it's not supposed to be that cammy sounding but it sure sounds good.
We'll see what it sounds like after tuning.
Its a used motor, should have stock cams and I put L&M intake only cams in and they are very small so either its a tuning issue or somebody put big cams in that motor before I got it. Its probably just tuning.
It won't be that way once the holes in the intake/CAI are sealed - it's just hunting around right now - someone was just needing to hear it start - damn kids...;)

Still have the fuel pump that sounds like a chainsaw? Is that the sound before the engine lights up?

Yup. I put a fuel pump controller on it to slow it down so its not so loud. Demand on this motor is going to be way less than the hot rod motor I had before so I hope to turn the pump waaaay down.

No muff too tuff.....

The offset on this X pipe was too high and would send my pipes into the floor so I cut the X halfway through and flattened it out and welded her back up.

This is the re welded side:

This is the factory welded side. Yuk.
I also cut off the necked down portions and welded some 3" stubs on there for a smooth transition to the mid pipes.

Its a tight fit but I got it all in there. Hope this is quiet enough....

Sounds good. The idle smoothed out. Did you just hook up the PCV lines?
I had already plugged the leaks in that last video, no idea why it was so cammy sounding but it sure smoothed out with the mufflers on there....

It sounds civilized. Can you fix that? 😁
Well, it is idling rather high as it was stone cold.
Maybe when the idle dies down to normal we might hear some cam.,...one can only hope.
Anybody with L&M intake only cams have any lope at all?
Anyone?
Bueller?

None here. But your tuner can probably give you a ghost cam tune.
Thanks but, no poser stuff for me. Let it be what it is.

How many DB do you expect?
All of them.....
But seriously, I just need to meet 103 db for SCCA races.
There will never again be a 90db track day for me at Laguna I'm afraid.

Did you go with the mono blade tb? Those are known for a little odd cold idle. Sounds good. Love this build!
No, the twin bore Ford racing unit.
