Yeah I saw it. I was trying to manage 300 degree oil with part of my cooling system left on the rocks by the corkscrew LOL.

We were both wounded and that's why I think there's a chance we could have possibly had some close action at the end there. We'll never know.
It was a hard weekend for all of us. I think Charlie is the only one who escaped unscathed.

Man, that shift-a-thon at 9 min was right as I was walking right overhead. Should have stayed on my side of the track to localize my hexxings to T2 shenanigans.

Was rough for a lot of us, though I think you took the brunt of the situation.
Hated to see that happen to you.

God bless your car has a lot of giddy up!
It makes good power for a basically stock motor.
One of the strongest points is that the car is super hooked up coming off the corners so I can put the power down long before others do and that helps it look like it has more power than it actually does. This has been a theme across decades of racing. I have typically had far less power than the competition but routinely beat them anyway so naturally every body looks at the motor Instead of the chassis. Their loss is my gain and I’m still gaining from it.

As I have often said:
”My car will always make more power on the gas than yours will on the brakes”.
Oddly enough, this concept never really seemed to catch on…..at least not in the circles in which I have traveled. Maybe I’m just lucky.

One of the competitors in AIX at nationals said that before we met he had asked around about me and heard the exact same thing from 6 different racers:
“ Sal is very good at beating cars that have more power than him”.

I’ll take that as a compliment.

In reference to that video, I basically hit the gas while others were sleeping so by the time they got things spooled up I was long gone.
”Race craft matters.”

With a caricature of Frankenstang on the track with The Road Runner style - oblong spinning affect of the rear wheels and stretched out burning up the road smoke. The track curves back into the picture and goes of infinity with that smoke as the trail. I can only draw straight lines with a ruler or would sketch something. Here's a cheap way instead of using a high paid artist. Grab one of those people that do the caricatures at amusement parks of fairs to do one.
