Ford Racing Cobra Jet Intake Thread

Like many of you I'm anxiously awaiting info and dyno numbers on this new intake. For those that install and tune your cars please post up your results and what other mods you're running. In one of the magazine articles a Ford engineer that worked on the intake stated there was a 25 HP increase with peak power moving up to 7,750 RPM's. The intake will require a different throttle body and tune so I'm not sure how much those two items counted towards the 25 HP if at all but it looks very good. You'll also want the high RPM pulse ring. Here are some links.

Parts list:
CJ Intake
Twin 65MM CJ Throttle Body
123MM Mass Air Flow Sensor
Competition High Rev Pulse Ring
Air Inlet/Filter
Tune

From member bbrgt in the thread link below:

"I will post the dyno graph later today as it is on my work computer or Mark if you have the copy I sent you , you can post it.
The increases are 30 rwhp and 20 rwtq with gains right across all rpm levels and it makes power up to 7800 rpm.
We will run it to 8000 once we install the high rpm pulse ring. All the dyno runs were done at the dealership on our Dynopack dyno and the tuning done by us with a SCT tuner.
The mods are AR 1 7/8 longtube headers , full 3 inch race exhaust with x pipe and a SCT tune . We used a temporary cold air intake for the dyno runs , we are making a permanent one this week .
Driveability seems fine but remember its a 302S so my street driving is limited to around the block trips.
The parts used are the CJ intake , CJ throttle body and the 123 mm maf housing

Tim"

I thought headers and a larger exhaust would net 30rwhp. I'm wondering if by adding some of these parts if it would net 500+ like it says on this link. http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/M6007A50XS/Mustang-Coyote-50L-Aluminator-Xs-Crate-Engine-M-6007-A50XS

I wonder if it would net around 60hp on a GT with the same exhaust? I know they gain 30 with the boss's intake. I'm also interested in seeing the dyno like everyone else.

Wich throttle body are u running if you dont mind

I thonk this is my next mod i have a certain guy and his gm pruduct i need to pull on the long straight at texas world speedway

Lol

The dyno numbers with the intake are 457rwhp @ 6700 rpm and 395 rwtq @ 5450 rpm . With the 1 7/8 longtubes , race exhaust and a tune it made 426 rwhp@ 6600 rpm and 376 rwtq @ 5000 . The power stays above 450 right to 7800 rpm where before it dropped off noticeably above 6700 rpm

That is one fat powerband and very usable HP on the track. You must be salivating to get it on a track and test it out.

Wasn't there still a missing piece to the puzzle? In addition to the CJ intake, twin 65mm TB and competition pulse ring, don't we also need a revised air inlet tube? And of course a tune, but maybe Justin will bring his mobile dyno to the Mustang Roundup this year.... ::)
