Glad I read the article, almost judged this book by it's cover. Wish they had more details on the drivetrain. Seems like by 2020, the big boys are gonna crash crash the EV party. Can't wait, wonder how Tesla will respond.

I hope Ford comes up with a viable 300 mile range EV. At this time I don't think Tesla needs to respond because they are so far ahead of everyone else. But sooner or later they will need to update the Model S and Model X and start selling the $35K Model 3.

No not now, but I think there will be once there's options for 300 mile range EV's <$50k that you can actually buy.

I think that $35k model 3 (the one I want) is a marketing mirage. Cheapest one I can spec comes out to ~$50-55k due to no battery options.

I agree the $35K range is not going to happen. But I can see pricing under $50K happening once supply and demand evens out across the board.
