Hi Everyone,

I have a 2008 mustang that is primarily track use. I run 200tw tires in the 295-315 width range, S-550 6 piston brembos up front. I have recurring issues with engaging ABS.

I am thinking of adding the FR500S ABS module to my car to increase my confidence in the brakes.

Does anybody know where I can find one of these? Is installation plug and play? Do I need any other supporting parts?

Note, I am referring to the 2005-2009 FR500S ABS module, not the 11-14 302r/s ABS module. There is lots of great info here about the 11-14 module but I haven't seen much for 05-09 FR500S one.

Thank You,

I don’t think you’ll be able to find them anymore. Long discontinued. Another option to ponder is converting to 11-14 ABS. I have heard it can be done on our 05-09 cars. Likely results in a Christmas tree dash, but if it’s a track only car you may not mind. Plus if you convert, you can then swap to the 302S/R module as well

These units came from a race team who ran 5 fr500c and boss 302r in imsa. They were given to teams directly. These were NOT sold thru ford racing.
All units or boxes have prototype and research tags on them.
I was emailing ford racing to get more specs on units. All are from supplier TRW.

Well…looks like I stand absolutely corrected, ha! I’m curious now.

@TA28 thanks for posting this up

@SMGDHG if you go this route let us know how it turns outOr we will cross paths up here at a track day sooner or later.
No you are right these are gone like the dodo bird. Not made period. What I found was a race teams inventory. Some nib some used.
I wanted ford to explain differences between
M-2353-b and m-2353-c or CA units.other than obvious modular cars use front mount plug and boss cars use 90 degree side mount for the plug. The fr500c and boss302s and R used same brake packages? So I doubt it's that.
And the B in last prefix I also doubt meant bracket? But?
Chris
