FWIW Lisle, or maybe Snap On, makes a ratcheting type pad expander that works real good. We welded 2 plates on ours to make it easier because it was mustang specific.

There is a very simple tool sold by Full Tilt Boogie

It's really a 3" wide flat steel, with a 20-deg bend near the end. Then a 1/4" bar welded at 90-deg. It's a very easy tool to use. Leave one pad in, put this tool in where the other pad was, and use the cross-bar to push in the two pistons. Then place the new pad in that space, and repeat for the other pad. It makes swapping the pads take about 5-min per corner, including jacking up the car, and removing the wheel.
