Front DIY splitter and rod questions

What is the best way to attach splitter rods to the crash bar on an S550? Rivnuts Weld a receiver nut?

How about the splitter. I see Professional Awesome has some frame mounts that will allow quick disconnect. I'm interested in these (or something like them).

For mounting a removable plywood splitter I assume the stock undertray has to be removed. Is it OK to drive the car without the tray? or is it better to clearance the bottom tray for the frame mounts?

Any help/insight/pics would be great. I'm new to the fab side of things.
