So I received my Boss Front Splitter DR3Z-17626-BA
31xFdS9w55L.jpg

However it did not come with the 3 j-nuts and bolts for the outside holes(6 total) I called Tasca and they show the part numbers for these(W505425S438, and W520822-S439) which according to their system, and what I find online are M6's. The instructions for the installation however shows M8's....

I am trying to get the fasteners ordered, but am trying to find the correct ones. The diagram below, I believe its numbers 28 & 29

Is that an FE intake in the foreground???

Good eye, it almost looks like a work in process to me. I wonder if it goes with the SOHC covers we see to the right of the intake manifold.

If it is for a Ford FE family V8, I just don't recall the the application for 8 individual intake runners. It reminds me of a custom Hilborn Injection system application, but it's not that.

Come to think about it, it's not a Ford FE application as the cylinder head mount side of the intake is in a V configuration. Ford intake applications have a flat bottom mount to bolt straight down on the cylinder heads.

Hummmm, Let's have some fun and start a questionnaire poll. What V8 application is this "Mystery" intake manifold used?

My first guess is a Chevy Can Am series 427 V8 application? And that is only a guess.

Let us know your thoughts,
Have fun,
Dave

Ok, I think I may have come across the Intake Manifold on the bench pictured.

This may very well be a Boss 429 "Stack Injection" intake manifold. The mounting will fit the big Boss semi-hemi cylinder heads. I saw an intake manifold very similar to this while checking on an all Aluminum Boss 429 Can Am prepped engine.

Then learned it was a special Jon Kaase Boss engine and he also has a similar intake manifold listed on his website.

Have fun out there,
Dave
