FRPP ProCal vs. TrackCal (2013 GT)

Question for anyone in the know - at one time FRPP offered a 2013-2014 GT specific ProCal package (p/n: M-14204-MGTTC) that included a performance tune and several of the Boss 302 Track Key features like lopey idle and 2-stage launch control. This package looks like it's been discontinued now according to the FRPP website and general lack of availability through vendors.

Still available is a 'Ford Performance Mustang Power Pack' (p/n: M-9603-MGTB) that includes the same bits (K&N filter and procal tool/voucher), but without any reference to what tune(s) you actually get access to with purchase. Is this the current equivalent of M-14204-MGTTC, or a separate, parallel tuning offering? If it's distinct, is there any difference in the performance tune that doesn't have to do with the (gimmicky, IMO) features like cam idle and launch control?

Basically, I'm looking for the easiest way into the FRPP performance tune for my 2013 GT, and M-9603-MGTB *looks* like what I want, but I want to be sure since there have been other p/ns used in the past.

As an endorsement for the M-14204-MGTTC, I installed it in my ‘14 GT and there is a noticeable butt dyno improvement in low and mid range torque. Also, it also doesn’t let rpm’s fall off as quickly when off throttle in a downshift.

Good luck in your search.

I don't know the tuning differences between the two but the MGTB also is being or has been discontinued. I recently picked up one of the last ones for my 2011 and I had to chase it down through Ford Performance, where the guy was going out to the back room "to find a guy." They made it work for me because I had already paid the vendor but I don't think they are available anymore.

The ProCal is labeled to my VIN so it may be married to one car and not reusable.

I heard that at some point they re-tuned the lopey idle to make it more safe somehow. If I were to guess, I'd guess that the new model number refers to a newer and more updated tune. It looks like the newer part number also applies to 2011-2014 GTs whereas the old one lists only 2013-2014 GTs. Its probably actually a slightly different tune.

Thanks for the heads up. Still showing as 'In Stock' from vendors like AM and Levittown, but I'll take that as a sign that I'd better not wait too long to decide if I want the FRPP tune.

That's what I thought too but after I ordered, all I received was a $360 air filter. Normally you were supposed to get a coupon that you submit to Ford Racing. That's what led me to being on the phone with Ford Performance and being told they are discontinued.

I don't see it listed any longer with AM, for example.

Well everyone, steve is right...
Confirmed with Ford Racing yesterday that MGTB is discontinued. In fact, all tune packages for S197-era 5.0 cars are unavailable, including the Boss Trackkey package that is still on the FRPP website. No word on if any versions may come back or be introduced with the new tool they have.
