Hey all,
Hoping to get some advice for my current situation. As some of you know, I blew my motor in my 2011 Mustang GT about a month ago. I have decided to replace my engine with a 38k mile used gen 1 motor. The replacement motor is stock other than a boss intake manifold, and I am planning on swapping over my old header and exhaust set up from the blown motor. Looking at doing some upgrades now while the engine is not in the car if worthwhile. I would really like to get a baffled oil race pan, upgraded oil pump, and oil pump gears. Please let me know if there's anything else you recommend.
I was originally looking at the GT500 oil pan and pump kit from Ford, but found out the pan will not fit if I reuse the kooks long tube headers from my old blown motor. So currently thinking a Moroso baffled oil pan will be the way I go, but not sure what oil pump will work with it. The GT500 pump uses a specific pick up that can only be used with the GT500 oil pan, so I've heard. I have heard mixed things about boundary oil pump and gears- do not want to spend the money if there's a risk of the engine blowing up again.
For you guys that have experience here - please let me know what you recommend.
