Girodisc hat clearance

Question for those running Girodisc’s with the stock Brembo 4 pistons. Decided this year to try two piece Girodisc rotors on the front of the 2012 Mustang with the 4 piston Brembo.

The tag instructions list 3mm clearance requirement between the rotor hat and pad backing plate. After install today my numbers are short, I measure ~2.5mm without the anti-rattle spring and ~1.5mm with the spring.

Has anyone running Girodisc had a hat/backing plate clearance problem? What is the typical clearance others have seen? Was that measured with or without spring?

I compared the backing plate across three pad manufacturers and the was no difference. So the backing plate looks standard 1001.
