Got my 'baseline' numbers from my 2013 Boss

I say 'baseline' because I have GT500 mufflers and k&n 63-2578 cai. At the cars and coffee last weekend an Evo owner referred me to Moore Automotive since I had not dynoed my car yet. My intent was to put the stock cai on and get a baseline. When I called this morning to set an appointment they were booked well into the rest of the month. But John said that he could squeeze me in this afternoon since they had a small window open. This is my first time putting my car on a dyno and it didnt even register to me that I couldve brought my stock airbox and switched it there. I was just too stoked I guess.

Here are the numbers

silver key = 366hp/329ft-lbs
red trackey = 375hp/332ft-lbs
That equals to 441 crank hp/390ft-lbs

I havent payed attention to what other Boss' run stock but I'm very pleased with these numbers. I'm actually more impressed with the smooth delivery of the horsepower! All my parts have been ordered and on the way; Peterson oil breather kit from YellowBoss, Kooks 7/8 LTH, Kooks o/r quah h-pipe, Kooks side exhuast, Lethal Performance gen2 OTA pipes, Airaid cf PJ w/blue non-oiled filter and SCT 3xcal w/tunes from Shaun @ AED. When I go back to Moore Automotive with all the parts I'll put the stock airbox and get a real baseline.

Question is am I going to get a dyno run after every mod? This was the first time at a performance shop getting a dyno run. They charged me $90 for 3 pulls but gave me an extra one since I had two keys to test on. Do shops charge you from every dyno run even if theyre the ones installing all the parts for you and youre paying for labor?

Shout out to these shops for the help and parts!

well that really depends on the shop. are they tuning the car for you? tuning is usually done at a flat hourly rate from my experience. they may work a package deal if all they are doing is pulls for you. could always email a mustang mag and see if they will do an article on the car and maybe they will cover the costs.

curious to see the results.

Hey rpm 3 what would it take to get some boss 302 challenge coins going? I am sure every one here would buy into supporting that. I still have my Nightstalker coin but would love to throw a Boss coin down at the local pub and get a few free pints.

Its defiantly doable, but they are quite expensive to make... I made up 100 RPM-3D coins to give to clients as gifts and it was roughly $2,500 for 100 coins...
So figure roughly $25 each for 1 coin design per 100 ordered.

They would be "generic" with no car image on them, but could have BOSS 302 on the front and 2012/2013 "A Legend-Reborn" on the back or something like that...

I also have to pay the full amount upfront in order to get them produced and shipped...

I emailed MM&FF, they are requesting high res photos of my car and everything that is done/will be done to it.

lol I thought I was crazy when I polished the magnaflow comp cat back when I got it. to paid you wont see it after its in unless you work on the car. it will turn color after it gets heat cycles.

I like the AED key chain :)

Today was my day off, I figured why not lol. And the key chain was a surprise to me. Shaun must've just thrown it in. Now I have an AED key chain for the silver key and SVTp key chain for the trackey

I really like the key chain that comes in the boss owners package but I leave it on the redkey (which I never use but to move the boss in and out in the garage when detailing it) I dont want to use it cause its not like I can get another one. my silver key I have the key chain from latemodelrestoration that I picked up right after I bought it. http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/item/FMC-300182/Mustang-Boss-302-Key-Chain

if you like to polish metal I would give mr buffer a try. I use it to maintain my exhaust I have tried a lot of different types of metal polish and find this one to be the best and quickest by far.

For now I will use Mothers mag polish. I have used it in the past and loved the results. But next time I will give mrbuffer and blue magic a shot.

Is anyone familiar with kooks and their metal? The h-pipe I have has a bronze tint to it and says, "cured in Italy". The cat delete portion, headers and side pipe all dont have that and is normal in color. Would it be safe to sand the h-pipe to a polish?
