Sorry I didn't post this earlier but Grand Am is at Barber down in AL this weekend and things are looking good so far for the Boss 302R's. A mustang won here last year so lets hope one can repeat the in this year.

Updates can be found here:

This race will be televised 4/16, 2:00 PM ET, SPEED

I see there's only a one week TV delay this race. Good luck and go take it to those M3's!

I wish I had the time to go. Barber is only about 2 1/2 hours away from me and Ford Racing has a Mustang Corral there this weekend. They usually do cool stuff.

MWilson--heard a forum rumor that the FR500C/302R cars run a Motec ECU? Is that true?

Also--last season there was the BOSS302R and 302R1--what is the difference between the two?

It is my understanding that teams can run Motec but I don't know of any that are doing it yet. Now that the wiring gremlins are all gone I don't see why anyone would move to a Motec especially given the cost.

So the race is over and I don't want to spoil it for anyone who wants to be surprised....... For those that hate waiting until the tape delayed show airs you can go to the link below for the results:

http://www.grand-am.com/schedule/results.cfm?series=k&eid=2373&sid=1499

Officially the Boss 302R1 has turned in to the Boss 302R and last years Boss 302R(of which none were built) is now the Boss 302S.

IF YOU DONT WANT TO KNOW THE RACE RESULTS DONT READ ANY OF THE POSTS BELOW!!!

I just back from this race. It was a very good race with an exciting finish. ;D A must watch (even if you know who won).

I got to talk with the car manager for the Jack Roush Racing team. Very cool guy. He said the engine is the same as the one in our cars accept for the oil pan. (they also change out the pulleys) He said they are very reliable and they use the stock ECU.
I posted some photos here: https://picasaweb.google.com/jwset.tn/BarberMotorsportsParkGrandAm#

What's the story on the pulleys? Just need a different set due to the lack of A/C, or ?

Where are the Roush boys pulling their rear brake cooling from? Under the car?

He didn't go into details about the pulleys. He said the owner didn't wan't any photos taken of the engine bay, then mention the pulleys were changed. ??? I would guess they are underdrive pulleys.

Yes, they are pulling the rear brake cooling from under the car. If you zoom in on that image you can see the hose stops a a bracket below the brake line.
