sorry I was talking about the grill plate. I should of said that - sorry.

thanks
Jack
I made the bits to block off the grille from .120" ABS plastic sheet. I'll probably order a 2019 Shelby grill hoping the part is much cheaper than the R price.

How did you gut the whole in the factory grill block off plate for the ram air?

looks factory, very clean edges
This is the original grille. It's held together by those serrated rectangular clips. I separated the two pieces and then I just followed the angle of the "fang" and main grille opening. I used a unibit drill to make the corners, then a coping saw to connect the holes. A dremel sanding drum and sanding block to make the edges straight.

Does anyone thinks that Ford put the restriction there for liability reasons? Some states you get a lot of rain, some states get below freezing temps and high moisture. Just like Ford did on the Focus RS with the plastic plate glued on the front radiator, that every owner ripped off. But for people that lives on a hot dry weather for most of the year this mod might be beneficial?
what are your opinions on this?

It’s not really as much of a restriction as it looks. The air inlet bell also pulls air from the center radiator opening. This new opening provides a bit more direct path, but probably doesn’t do much. I did block off the the path between the center radiator area to the air inlet so it pulls the air from the new front opening.
