Getting ready to drop new motor with GT500 oil pan into our Mach1 which has the GT350 TR3160 trans with trans cooler. Appears the oil cooler lines will not play well with the GT500 oil pan wings or T pouches. Anybody run into this yet?

I ran the GT500 pan on my GT350 with oem trans cooler - but I had removed one of cooler lines mounts (I think the one that connected to the bellhousing?) when I ran the FP350S pan before that. No issues, though

@honeybadger probably gave you the best answer that's available from the perspective of what works on a GT350. Don't be surprised if the Mach1 uses a bunch of different parts than the GT350 - front fascia is probably different, cooler location, size and shape probably different, plumbing routing probably different, etc. What's more, even though it's a TR3160 with the same gear ratios, there's no guarantee that some part of it (the location of the cooler fittings comes to mind) hasn't been changed to work in the Mach1 chassis.

Appreciate the thoughts. I do know that the trans cooler lines, cooler, and mounting hardware are straight from the GT350 parts bin, same part numbers. Actually much of cool bits on the Mach is GT350 / GT500.

Interesting - I tried to verify the PN's before I posted but the Ford Parts website is down so I couldn't. The dealer-based websites call up an MT82, so that wasn't helpful. In any case, good luck with getting it all to work!

Hard contact with pan. I tried persuading them a bit but line cracked where it goes in trans. Probably could have made it work if I had supported the line a bit more towards the trans as I was pulling on it. I see MMR has the trans fittings to convert to -8 AN.

So here’s what I did...
MMR transmissions and cooler fittings to use -8 hose. This was expensive and I don’t think I’d do it this way again. I would remove the stock hard lines and make an attempt at bending them using proper tubing bender.

Did you have to drill the bell housing to use the bottom two bolts to mate the bell housing to the oil pan? My TR3160 doesn’t have holes all the way through on mine on the bottom two mounting locations.

No, mine were ready to go. 2021 Mach1 but should be same trans. I did have to find a washer/spacer the right thickness to go between the two surfaces as the pan had a gap to the trans for those two bolts.

I see the problem now. Mine is like the trans on the pallet, you can see it in one of my pics I posted above. Your trans doesn’t have the ears, was thinking they just were not drilled all the way through.

I don’t think I would sweat it since they were not used originally on yours, or mine with the original oil pan. I used them with the new pan because they were there.

Ford always changing stuff, I guess we will bolt her up and see today.
