Is the rest of the suspension stock? Will this wear out the shocks pre-maturely?

Yes, stock struts and shocks. I have no experience or data to answer your question. My opinion would it depends. A shock basically is an enclosure with Hydraulic oil and a series or shims or/and ports that restrict the flow of hydraulic fluid which dampens the up (rebound) & down (compression) motion of a vehicle.

Could the springs provide too much force for the valving of a shock I would say yes. They could cause too much pressure and allow a seal or such to be busted.

A stiffer spring, I think the question to ask is if they spring is valved to handle the rebound force. A softer spring I would think you'd have to be more worried about compression dampning.

The key to valving is to give you the best range of motion to absorb up and down without bouncing. You can also get into high & low speed dampening.

The shocks on the boss are adjustable, so I started out at 5 and will work my way back if necessary.
