315 on 11 is completely fine. Will another 0.5 of wheel width give the tire marginally more support, yes. Do you have the experience to utilize that marginal increase in grip, that may be worth a tenth or two a lap? Your decision.

I run them on 19x11.5. They feel great, look great, shoulder wear is mitigated, temps across the tire are rather even. Your -camber plays a part, too. The 315 R7 is measurably wider than a 315 Cup 2. 315 Cup 2 has a stretched sidewall on my 11.5" wide wheel. The R7 in 315 has a square sidewall.

Thats odd... the 315/30-19 Cup 2s should be about 0.2 inchs wider then the same size Hoosiers. Always thought the Cup 2s ran wider and that was part of the magic.

Tread width for the PSC2 is 11.5 and the R7 is 11.8 , per the tire spec chart for one of our favorite links on the TMO site ---- Tire Rack. So, yes , The Who Sure is wider than the Cuppa Too!

For comparison’s sake. Both on 19x11.5” wheels. The Hoosier is noticeably more square.

And just for fun, and to show you that tire spec measurements are about as believable as a persons info on a dating app, here’s a 305 Goodyear Supercar 3R next to a 315 Hoosier R7 (which my previous post displays is visually wider than a 315 Cup 2).

From Tire Rack (who use the same standard method to measure each tire themselves), specs section, 315/30-19 measured on 11" rim.
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 $433 ea.
treadwear: 180; section width 12.6"; tread width 11.5"; diameter 26.5"

Hoosier R7 $507 ea.
treadwear: 40; section width 12.5"; tread width 12"; diameter 26.1"

Looks like I took too long writing this - multi-tasking too much. As pictured above, the "standard" tire size printed on the sidewall tends to be more of a vague representation of actual tire width when dealing with competition-type models.

Thanks Dave W, as I had been doing spec data at Tire Rack concerning Toyo RRs, which have some major advantages in Time Trial and Road Racing Classifications with NASA and I accidentally put the tread width down for the 315/30/18 ( size I have run with Hoosier and BFG ), instead of the 19 diameter R7. I knew they were wider than the PSC2s , but I also like that tire quite well when recommending something for folks who drive to the track.

Speaking of dating apps, I've got a date with the tires on the left. I have a set of four GY 3R's on 11" rims that I'm hoping to run at Area 27 in early September. They're the same section width as the MPSC2 315's and have the same rubber on the road (tread width minus voids) as Pirelli Trofeo R 325's. Here's hoping it doesn't rain...

If you haven't run the 3Rs before, prepare to be amazed. ...and how I would love to run Area 27 again. That track is amazing!

If you've run them, what pressures worked? The ZL1 1LE owner's manual says 35 hot - does that work on a GT350? Also, how is the life and heat cycles? Longer or shorter than MPSC2's?
