I was helping a few mustangs at the track and after logging them, noticed that the Spark advance was typically from 28 to 29.5 degrees..... This sounds way too aggressive too me when running 93 gas. These were with local tuners and a canned tune from VMP

My AED track tune is maxed at 27.5 degrees.... I though anything over 27 degrees was aggressive and needed a splash of race gas to help it along.

Is this right???

There's a lot more to tuning than just spark advance, so it's hard to say how much is "too much" in this case. For what it's worth, my 93 octane VMP file was turned down to 28* and I usually add a couple ounces of Torco to each tank when on track just for safety.
