Step six re install side pipe by first slipping over studs on flange then threading the rear bolt and loosely tighten bolt and nuts. check clearance you should be able to get you hand around the pipe from front to back adjust as necessary. Once clearance is good tighten all nuts and bolt down and recheck clearance.

Step seven repeat steps one-six for opposite side then lower vehicle and you are done. now wasnt that easy?

Is the exhaust stainless or regular steel? Don't have the car here, need to know what stick to pick up to redo the misaligned welds

Just curious to all those that removed the plates altogether, Is it ALOT louder inside? like after 20 min novelty wearing off and being annoying / drone ?

The decel stuttering gets old, and on the highway for long trips it sucks. Other than that, it is great.

You can get some sheet metal and make a new baffle with whatever size hole you want, then instead of putting holes for the bolts put deep notches. That way you just have to crack the bolts, not actually remove them or the one at the tip. Just make sure you leave a little tab hanging off the side so you can grab them out.

Save the dawn for your dishes!!!
yeah I took mine out right after I got the trackey installed. sounds pretty good just dont like the noise from about 2800-2000 that is makes. I like the pop pop up higher though. hasnt gotten old yet if anything it could be louder lol

What he said is true and no it is not that loud. You will notice a difference but it's not like you can't hear the radio. I took mine out at first but over time I wanted a more tuned sounds with discs but bigger then the factory ones.

So who is going to be the first to put a whistle tip in the side pipes? Bub Rub hoooo!

The decel noise isn't too bad after track key, if the tune allowed full engine braking I think it would go away.

I've been running wide open side pipes since I got my Boss last October & love it....still considering getting some aftermarket axle backs for a little louder, bolder sound, but don't want to become a cop magnet with the warmer weather approaching......decisions....decisions..............

I took mine out and while you can hear it...that's why I bought the car!

No annoying drone.

ok took out the discs, went for a drive. Sounds killer outside however IMO it kills the sound of the engine too much and cabin noise is a little bothersome on long drive. Maybe I will try 1/2 or 3/4 discs.

So is 3/4 best of both worlds, more exhaust but no booming in cabin and can hear the engine?
IMO yes. Everyone had a different sound/noise tollerance. Mine isn't real high and I have stock, 1/2, 3/4 and use 7/8. A neighbor of mine has the 3/4 on his Boss so I've been able to hear them side by side. I like the 7/8 and it's a bit louder than 3/4. From your comments I'd order the 3/4 and you can always drill the out if it's not loud enough. Skip 1/2.

ok thanks alot

As Rick said the 3/4 is a great sound and the most popular discs by far. The way I explain them is the 3/4 gives a good mix of engine and exhaust sound when listening to the car pass by you on the street. For the most part it is the same inside the car, they do not drown out the engine noise which IMO is a good thing. The smaller discs like 1/2 and 5/8 let you hear the engine more while giving you a much better exhaust note over the factory discs and larger the 7/8 and 1 inch give you more of an exhaust note while still cutting back on the Jake brake type noise.

Wide open or any size disc does not cause a drone, that has nothing to do with the discs but it is the way the guys at Ford designed them.
