How to Swap Outside Mirrors?

I like the side mirrors with the integrated spotters which aren't installed on 2013s. I notice that most other 2012 and 2013 Mustangs have them. I'm guessing that the mirror portion can be swapped out and that I could find a pair at a junkyard.

Has anyone done this and, if so, can you give me an idea of the process to swap out just the mirror portion? Is it as easy as just popping out the existing mirrors and snapping in the replacements with the integrated spotting mirrors or is there more to it?
