Just caught wind of these, anybody have more information about them?

I spent a lot of time talking with engineers a few years back when they were working on the 3r, which was what happened when they set their sights on the Cup 2. DOT Radial Race Tire screams A7 killer.

Obviously, Goodyear knows a thing or two about tires. At worst, it's a Dunlop Sport Maxx Slick, which I believe is on par, and at best, it's an A7 performance with R7 life, and then some? Pricing seems much better, which means either Hoosier is going to come down, or if they stay their course, I'll enjoy saving $300ish on a set.

Just called and found out that they came out earlier and were somewhat inventory locked until the SCCA runoffs completed. Somewhere between A7 and R7 in both longevity and performance. Set to me in SoCal comes to about $1600, more or less what I'd pay for Toyo's and Yokos, and a few hundred less than a set of Hoosiers. They'll be introducing more sizes, as well, but I think I'm down for a set.

I was talking to Jason at Shelby.

Will be interesting to see if they actually perform that well because with BFG dropping their gforce R1Ss, only a Toyo RR was out there as competition and they are slowwww! If they are in the competitive range of the A7/R7 on track, then the price differential may help them spark quite a bit of interest. Currently the Hoosiers are around 1800, so if the Goodyears can come in under 1600, there will be some folks willing to try this other American Tire -- though Hoosier is now owned by Continental so technically not American. Of course BFG is owned by Michelin, so it technically is not American either, ha.

Appreciate all the data and sizes shown !!!

I wonder if this is the tire they dropped on A sedan at the runoffs, after they outlawed the A7s in that class. ( which was pretty stupid IMO to call out a specific compound) Hoosier whipped out some overnight trick rubber and labeled it with another compound name and gave them to the top 8 qualifiers. That was the end of that
