Interior gopro locations?

I'm using an older Hero 3 and I'd like to put it inside so I don't have to worry about tethering and for the ability to watch my hands.

With that said, the obvious seems to be somewhere just behind me, like right over my right shoulder, or slightly offset to the drivers side (think over left shoulder of passenger).

Any mount recommendations? What are you guys doing/using?

Thanks!

I'm using a gopro hero 5 black with the suction cup mount. You can mount it on the inside of the rear window looking forward. This location is inside and you can see your hands. Caveat! You may need to lock the exposure of the camera on the dash board so everything outside the car doesn't become over exposed. See examples:

Without locked exposure:

With locked exposure:

I've since moved my camera location to under the rear view mirror because I'm sick of climbing in the backseat to lock the exposure. This location is easy to use but you can't see your hands.

Camera under the rear view mirror:

Hope this helps!

I like my helmet mount. I needed to make a slight adjustment lower on the camera but, things were moving fast at the school and I was hard to dial in. its one of my favorite views.

Heres a the angle I was trying to achieve...this guy was nice enough to send me his GoPro settings:

I actually saw a cool spot today for a good view of the steering wheel, cockpit, and out the windshield.

A local guy with a 13 boss 302 has his go pro mounted at the top of his rear windshield (pretty much centered). He also has a ball style mount he can clip in to the rear windshield mount that can lower the camera by about 8", or move it forward, or angle it however he needs.

I thought it was pretty cool, and liked how when not in use it is out of the rear view mirror.

I've used the helmet and the passenger quarter window. Kinda far, but you can also see the knees for footwork some. But also used the seat adjuster bar for a better view of footwork.

We made a mount for my sons 15 GT that is basically a piece of 1x1 aluminum angle with 2 small U bolts that fasten it to the drivers head rest posts and protrude into the "Between the seats" area. Works very well, is cheap and easy to build.
