Is Pitt Race or Mid-Ohio considered a high abrasion track?

Curious about tire wear at these two tracks. Pitt Race - Last year I noticed that the wet line was the same as the dry line. This was confirmed by instructors.
And I corded all 4 summer tires that really had plenty of tread left. The purpose of my post question is if the shoulder wear was due to my choice of pressure (mid 30's for just a couple sessions, otherwise high 30's), OR an especially abrasive surface. (Note that the wet line being the same as dry line was a clue.)

How much negative camber are you running up front?
IIRC, maybe -2.7 for these 275 PS4s.

I since slotted my struts for -3.5deg (and >40psi) and that worked great for Cup2s at a different track. Even temps and wear.

What rims are you running?

Apex SM5 11" square. Yes, I can rotate and plan to do so, perhaps even daily during those 4 track days. I.e., 3 rotations if necessary.

The all purpose band aid for tire issues seems to be to add psi. Good observation on the dry line being the same as the wet. That's a dead giveaway that the track is abrasive.
It didn't seem to me Pitt was that abrasive, but I was just trying to learn the track. Mid O, however is not only abrasive, but the tires never get a break, they just grind away.

I emailed the head instructor of Chin and he said they have to sweep the Pitt track during the lunch break because of all the clag.

I ran the same tires pictured for 2 days at MidOhio without wear.

If I hurt a Michelin, that's how I do it. It's way up on the shoulder, right? It's sustained understeer, generally at higher speeds. It's often when you're scrubbing the inside edge of the inner tire, but it looks like you're getting it both directions. Do you feel like you're driving into understeer or spending a lot of time at partial throttle? You might try to square your corners a little to reduce combined loads, if possible. Don't worry about carrying Miata speed mid-corner. It's more important to get the car turned early than it is to carry maximum mid-corner speed.

From @mikedahammer at 6g:

"Pitt Race destroys tires. Their track is gritty and I destroyed the outside and inside of the my supercar3rs. They also had a ton of rubber slag off the race line-more than most.

Mid Ohio was repaved and was super smooth and no issues with tire wear. I did a three day event there and didn't notice any tire wear. I am contemplating not going back to PittRace because of my experience with tires there. Both tracks (the track themselves) are fantastic and PittRace has probably one of the nicest paddocks. Mid Ohio might have the worst paddock.

Just make sure to rotate tires (midday) and bring extra fronts if you can and of course keep an eye on them at PittRace.

Pitt Race is definitely harder on the front left purely due to the nature of the turns. 5-6 , 12 and 17 all hard rights. I'm kind of with @honeybadger on checking the toe. Pressures too high? Here's after a 260 ish mile 3 day weekend in the 80s and rotating diagonal after each day. I was playing around with pressures and was running too low 30-31 305s with 3 up front. The wear was my fault.20240529_173513.jpg
This is a 250ish mile 2 day weekend again in the 80s. One diagonal rotating after day 1 but running 34-35 and still have life. Maybe another day. Not too bad for slicks.20250212_184204.jpg
I ran cup 2s on 2 different days and still have them on for my street tires for to and from the track plus a little street driving. I also set my cold pressures with attention to what the Pitt Race does to the left front and side. 0 front left , front right + 0.5 PSI , back left +0.5 psi and back right + 1 psi. That usually ends up with square hot pressures. Example cold 27. 27.5. 27.5. And 28 = 34 square.
