Jack Stand Recommendations

Does anyone have any recommendations on some quality jack stands? I'm currently using the Harbor Freight ones and would like to get something more substantial. Please post a link to the stands with your recommendation. TIA

I have these Torin 3 ton aluminum stands. I like them because of the solid base that does not cut into asphalt and they are light and easy to use.

That's what I'm looking for. These work fine on the pinch welds? Are they stable when placing two on one side and jacking up the car on the other side to place the other two stands in place? My cheap stands rocked a bit which always caught my attention.

It has been sometime since I have used them on the pinch welds, but do they worked just fine for that as I have loaned to others that have used them on those welds. I have never had a stability issue using one, two, or all four stands, including during the lifting process. Once again though I am not using the pinch weld points and instead have lifting rails thus am able to lift dead center and it is well balance if the opposing side is already on the stands. You should consider adding center lifting pads as this truly simplifies the work.

I use them on the pinch welds. No issues, although I normally put a piece of towel in between to save the paint.

The only time I experienced rocking was when trying to raise the car too high in one step to get all the way underneath. One step jacking for wheel removal has been no issue, and the car is rock solid on 4 stands.

I use old Harbor freight 3 ton stands. I think they just changed the color to grey.

Mine are yellow.
I use the Jack stand pads on the pinch welds.

Never had a issue with them even at the track.

I'm sure they're just fine. I have a plastic race deck floor in my garage and I have to use sheets of Masonite under them to avoid marring the floor from the sharp corners. Same issue in the paddock at some tracks where they require you to use boards to prevent sinking into the asphalt. The flat bottoms on these eliminate that issue.

I can see that for sure.. Flat bottoms looks like a good idea. I can see why on hot days..might have to look into that for track days, Might take up less room in my tire trailer when I use it too.

now you have me looking at them ::)

I use these, although my older versions do not have the nice welded footplates: http://www.amazon.com/Craftsman-4-Ton-Jack-Stands/dp/B005JWVPJE/ref=sr_1_2?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1452718619&sr=1-2&keywords=craftsman+jack+stand

Thanks everyone for the recommendations and keep them coming. I'm looking for stands more stable than the Harbor Freight ones I current use and ones that won't dig into my Race Deck flooring. I had Kenny Brown jacking rails installed on my Boss and will install either Mike's jacking plates for BMR jacking rails on my 350. I want to use them like in the photo below because race car. ;D

I use a heavier duty, 6 ton truck I think, set of 4 stands when I have the car up on 4 points like in the pic. These stands are larger, but allow a greater height as well. Lots of room to roll around on a creeper. The smaller stands are nice for the track and mods where you do not need to go under the car. Of course the best is a full on lift. IMO this is another area like helmets, Hans, belts, roll bars... spend the $. It's worth it.

I've got a set like LS110 posted, and a set that are very similar from Griot's Garage.
Work great on the Kenny Brown jacking rail and don't mark the floor.
And they're a lot lighter than the steel stands.
Get 4 and don't look back.

Using race ramps help getting the Boss in the air. Then jack up the rear, place stands and continue to jack up the front, side by side. I don't like lifting one side more than 6" or so at one time. I also purchased a second floor jack, (aluminum) 2.5T to work with my heaver 3.0T steel floor jack. Then I use 6.0T stands in the rear on the outer end of the axle tubes, and the smaller 3.0T stands in the front. I use 2 oak blocks up front with a kirf cut to insert on the pinch weld for an extra 1.5" of clearance. IIRC, gives me about 19.0" or so of clearance. It was a good setup for the header install last summer.

My son helped me under there and it was a great bonding experience, we were just talking about it again during the holidays. Working on the Boss 302 Mustang is fun stuff!

One thing for sure, I sure like those pinch-weld jack mounts I purchased here.

I use the HF brand successfully.

Have the Race Deck flooring in 75% of my 1100 SF garage and have ruined a tile or two using Toren 3-ton jack stands. Love the flooring but it's not ideal for putting you car up on stands. I ended up doing the same as cloud9 and cut out masonite pads for the jack and the stands. Cheap soultion that seems to protect the flooring pretty good.
