Lap timer on 2018 GT350

So my new Gt350 has a "lap timer" under the tracks apps. Says you can use it to time 3 different tracks. They do not tell you how to use in the owners manual. Anyone use it yet? I'm thinking it's just a lap timer that you start and stop, not like my GPS timer.

You have to manually start and stop it. You have to hit "OK" every lap when you cross the start/finish line so it's only as accurate as you make it depending on when you hit the button. That's too much to think about while flying around a racetrack so I just use a GPS lap timer instead.
