Installed a Beltronic STiR Plus radar detector and a Laser Interceptor laser jammer.

Now THAT is the way to install a radar/laser detectors and jammer! Well done sir.

Love the grille too.

Thanks. I've already been saved a couple of times. I drive fast but safe. The big brembo front brakes and forgestar wheels turned out well also. Very happy with the cosmetics.

Love it. Did you install it or have it installed? Curious to what this would set someone back.

What grille and springs do you have installed?

I hear ya. I had a hardwired V1 in my last car but decided to forego radar/laser detection in this car. So far so good!

The forgestars look so good on the boss cars and yellow has become my new favorite color.

I had it installed but you could do it yourself for I think a little over $3K as all the stuff is top of line (STiR Plus and Laser Interceptor). The grill is the CDC performance grill from American Muscle. The springs and suspension are Steeda. Specifically, I have the Coil Over Spring 10” Long 225 lb and Coil Over Spring 10” Long 200 lb. The system is Adjustable Coil Over Suspension System w/Tokico D-Spec Shocks and Struts.

What happens when you go through Ohio? They have monitors they detect radar Detectors. I know of 2 friends that just passed the border into the state and immediately got pulled over and they took possession of them and fined heavily..

Drive faster :)

I know in Virginia they are illegal too.

Here in PA they are allowed but are useless since the police here don't use Lidar and only the State Police use non moving radar. The local police use electronic speed timers such as ENRADD and Vascar which are undetectable.

The STiR Plus is not detectable by radar detector detectors (proven). But if you're paranoid, just turn it off when in VA/OH.

ENRADD is very rare because it is difficult to set up and certify. As of now, I think it is only used in Pennsylvania. Vascar is most definitely detectable. I have a very nice aircraft detector in my BMW but didn't put it in the Boss (yet) because it's only used in a few places in FL. I use the Zaon PCAS MRX with a remote front mounted antenna for VASCAR. It is 100% reliable.

Sorry but Vascar is not detectable. It stands for Vehicle average speed computer and recorder. It is simply a computer that calculates the average speed between two fixed points (trees, mailboxes, painted lines in the roadway). It is operated by the operator actuating a stop and start switch when the target vehicle passes the two preset points. It does not eminate any type of signal. We use it in patrol cars, not in aircraft (well the state uses it in their helicopter, but that's it). Almost all Vascar use in PA is done by ground units. Its basically an advanced stop watch. Enradd is widely used in PA. Every department in my county uses it. It takes about 2 minutes to set up. You may be thinking of ESP, which was a PITA to set up.

My detector has already paid for itself. I have a vid in my youtube account, the damn thing started to go off and it was over a mile before I actually found the trap. He was on the side of the highway and down near the trees, not even close to line of sight. A challenger passed me just as I went by and got nailed. Pretty lame that it was straight road and the limit was 55....

Edit: I use an Escort 9500ix

VASCAR as I have heard it referred to uses an aircraft to time the differences but I think this is semantics as the method in Florida on I95 and the turnpike to Orlando is timing two points with aircraft. That is detectable. Timing on the ground is clearly not detectable. I do not believe that method is used in Florida or is very rare.

I've only detected an aircraft taking speed once just south of Daytona on I95. It was posted that aircraft were taking speed as I think is the law or at least posted to discourage speeding. After detecting the aircraft, I saw a little later the cars pulled over. I've never gotten a ticket with this equipment.

It is fun detecting aircraft in general (the ones not taking vascar) and having my daughter try to spot them. I have it set to only those 1000 ft or below within 2 miles since vascar aircraft typically fly at 500 ft. Below you can see the aircraft detector in the lower right in my BMW.

I'm pretty sure we here in PA are the only ones who use it on the ground. Unless you drive the PA turnpike, 80, 81 or 95 or the unincorporated areas without local police, a radar detector in PA is useless.
